Fair Share for Schools is a grassroots effort of the Palo Alto community to support and protect our public schools. Our only goal is to make sure that Stanford, our district’s largest and wealthiest landlord, provides proper funding for the increasing number of public school students who live in their housing.
This effort was started by Todd Collins, who is a PAUSD Trustee and community member. It builds on the work of many others who have identified this problem and sought to fix it. A particular debt is owed to the late John Tuomy, former school board member, who spearheaded efforts 20 years ago that secured $10 million in Stanford funding for schools related to the first GUP and the building of Stanford West.
